CAMBRIDGE NOTES By Mary Hurley, 10/03/99 Candidate links are on city Web site Questions have been raised recently about the use of the city's official Web site by candidates for local elected office. In response to a query from the city solicitor's office, the state Office of Campaign and Political Finance said it is OK for the city's Web site to provide links to candidates' Web sites. However, the city is not allowed to provide training on Web site development to candidates or political committees. Late last month, the city began to notify candidates of the link accessibility. Candidates' Web sites already can be accessed through the city's Web page and its link to the Cambridge Civic Journal, the on-line newsletter operated by City Council candidate Robert Winters.
